The festive cheer is in the air! What better way to end 2021 than a fancy three course Christmas dinner? Complete with Christmas crackers, delicious food, wine and festive lights, the Christmas spirit filled our bones with warmth and delight. A big thanks to The Refinery Bankside Restaurant for spoiling us with a  scrumptious meal, and for an opportunity to reminisce with friends about what a great and eventful term AMSA had. Here's to all the new friends and memories we made, and to an even better 2022! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone, and see you in 2022 for more AMSA love!

Pub Quiz and Games Night
20th November 2021

We put our member's trivial knowledge to the test with our Pub Quiz! From James Bond to BTS, geographical facts to Taylor Swift - you name it, we asked it! The competitive spirit was among us and rippling through the air, with each team eager to show off their general knowledge and win. To keep the energy going, we powered our way through the session with a few games, including Mah Jong, Pictionary and Exploding Kittens.  In typical AMSA fashion, we found ourselves back in Chinatown to end the night, enjoying a delicious meal from Gold Mine.

What's better than trick-or-treating? We think Halloween costumes and bowling! From Squid Game to Anime, we were delighted to see the range of costumes, and to witness the bowling skills of our lovely members! Divided up into teams for each individual lane, it was a great way to bond and critique each other's techniques, but to also discover those who possessed the talent for bowling, and those who simply gave us frights.

AMSA Explained 2021
8th October 2021

We welcomed in-person events back with our annual AMSA Explained! After more than a year of seeing each other virtually, it was no surprise that the room was full of excitement and fun. It was amazing to see everybody's faces again (albeit the masks), and we spent the time getting to know one another with ice breakers and games. To top the night off, we enjoyed a scrumptious dinner at New Loon Fung Restaurant in Chinatown. What a perfect end to a brand new beginning for AMSA 2021!

It's one of our biggest events of the year, and it was no surprise that our Lunar New Year 2020 Dinner was a huge blast! Held at Imperial China in Chinatown, we were spoiled with an array of delicious dishes, and the restaurant was abuzz with the chatter of medical students eager to socialise and catch up with friends. It was great to see so many familiar and new faces that night. Afterwards, we explored the rest of Chinatown, treating ourselves to much-deserved deserts and drinks. Needless to say, the night was an absolute success! Wishing everyone celebrating a prosperous Happy Lunar New year!

AMSA Xmas Dinner
13th December 2019

Season's greetings! Tis the season for another reunion, this time Xmas themed! On the 13th of December, the most auspicious time of the year, the AMSA family descended upon Prezzo for our annual Xmas dinner. Delightful antipasti and belly warming mains awaited the hungry troops, and to no surprise, everybody left in a food coma. On behalf of the committee, a big thank you to all our members for making 2019 such a great year. Lots of amazing memories created and new friends made. Here's to 2020 and all that the new year will bring! Cheers! Wishing all a Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year.

Fun times! AMSA Delegates from Queen's University Belfast in Northern Ireland paid us a visit between the 15th and 17th of November. Charlotte and Jom, our AMSEP officers and de-facto tour guides, took our guests on a romp throughout London, from taste-testing the delicacies at Borough Market to competing in intense beer pong matches at Pong! And to maintain our status as an academic society, our Academic Officers hosted a history-taking session to round of the trip. Thank you to our lovely for AMSA NI family for being such wonderful guests and friends! See you soon in Belfast.

AMSA Explained
25th October 2019

Hello everybody. Big news. AMSAX was a success! It was so much of a success that we had to split into two groups and head to two different restaurants to accommodate everybody. To recap, the 1st half of the event was a briefing on what AMSA is about and the events we have planned for members throughout the year followed by icebreaker games. The 2nd half was a family dinner at either Pizza Express (the unlucky ones...) or at Suchard (a Thai restaurant, need more be said?).  And for those who missed out on the secret social at the end, we headed to Spoons for fresher initiation. Merci to Ex-Prez Sabin for supplying the platter of vodka shots! No drunk freshers this year, but there were was a certain embarrasingly intoxicated 2nd year...

Meet & Greet
2nd October 2019

Traditions always hold true. Once again this year, we set up the perfect mousetrap for fresher medical students. Original Glazed Krispy Kreme doughnuts on a chilly Wednesday morning! Many thanks to the freshers, non-freshers and old boys + girls for coming in spite of torrid soul-sucking lectures prior. New members were given the opportunity to intermingle, meet the committee and ask questions about the organisation. Obviously, the committee impressed, because MORE sign ups! Or was it the doughnuts?

Freshers Fair (IC & KCL)

KCL: 21st & 22nd September 2019

IC: 1st October 2019

Spittle was sent flying, hand and arm motions were aplenty, and numerous candies + chocolates were handed out and consumed. All in all, a very successful 3 days for AMSA UK! A very warm welcome to the 100+ new faces who signed up with us this year. We look forward to seeing many of you at our future events. Also, a big shoutout to the committee members who sacrificed their time to help man the booths!
